Nice to meet you
My name is Laura Langley, and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Loughborough University in 2009. My journey in CBT continued as I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Mental Health at the University of Hertfordshire in 2011, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Psychological Studies at the University of Exeter in 2014.
For over a decade, I have been dedicated to working within adult (16+) NHS primary care services, specialising in CBT-based interventions. During this time I have held my full BABCP accreditation as a CBT therapist.
Throughout my career, I've worked extensively in both face-to-face and remote settings, utilising telephone and online video services. My expertise spans a variety of common mental health issues, including depression, general anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social phobia, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), specific phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and body dysmorphia.
My approach involves providing short-term therapy, typically consisting of 8-20 sessions. I work collaboratively with my patients, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
Unfortunately I'm currently taking a break from practicing CBT whilst overseas for a couple of years. However if you have any questions about how Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can help you, please get in touch and I would be happy to signpost to other therapists and sources of information.
I'm currently working from overseas, taking a sabbatical from the NHS. During this time, I'm offering private, remote CBT sessions to clients in the UK who are struggling with mental health challenges.
If you're interested in exploring how CBT can assist you in overcoming psychological distress, and if you're ready to engage in a process that helps you understand your own distinct challenges and develop practical strategies to address unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, please reach out. I'd be delighted to meet you and explore how we can work together to create positive changes in your life.
